Orion guards my antenna system!
This is a photo I took in the back garden just a few minutes ago, at around 19:45 UT. It shows the brilliant constellation Orion beside some of my antennas. The antennas shown include one of my verticals, the Antron 99, which I use for 15m and 12m (and it does very well by the way, getting me into the Far East yesterday so I won't be getting rid of it any time soon!), and attached to the pole supporting the Antron is the 6m dipole. You can also see my discone for 2 metres and, if you look closely, you will see the ribbon line, and perhaps the wire itself, of my half-size G5RV.

Great shot! What camera and time of exposition you used?
ReplyDeleteHi Tony, Nice picture. Had a A99 for ages and still serving as my multiband antenna although I modificate it a little. It seems to be that the Imax2000 which is the 5/8 wave version of the A99 is doing a fine job as well on 15/12 and 10m. 73, Bas
ReplyDeleteAndy, I use the Nikon D200. Time exposure was 25 seconds at f3.5 iso400. Bas, thanks. Indeed the Antron 99 is a great little antenna. Not bad for 85 euro! It's still my primary antenna on 15 and 12 and it ha given me excellent results. Haven't worked anyone outside EI on 6m yet though!! Here's hoping . . .
