This is Richard, MJ0UOO/P on Jersey Island with a huge pile-up on 40 metres SSB. I was listening to him on my old Icom IC-735 connected to a homwmade inverted v dipole resonant on 40m. About five minutes after this I called Richard and broke the pile-up with 100 watts.
With the RF gain down a bit she's nice and quiet. Some great QSOs tonight from Europe. Hearing CX2DDP now and going to try work him on ON7TQ's DX net . . . The IC-735 is a lovely wee radio, there's no doubt.
Good morning Anthony, one of my first rigs was the Icom 735 and on mine the little plastic door covering the sliding controls would always come off. It was a great little rig and sounds good in the video.
Mike, I find there's a very "hot" receive on it, if that's the appropriate word!! I had great fun on it last night. Had no problem working CX2DDP in Uruguay on Roger ON7TQ's DX net with just 100 watts and the inverted V. I had no problem hearing CX. Unfortunately the radio does not have a keyer. If it did I would get a lot more CW use out of it. But I have enjoyed using it so far . . .
Nice one Anthony. I like the IC-735. Some great conditions on 40m lately. 73 and DX de EI7IS
