A lovely old film about amateur radio

Some of you may have seen this before, but I came across this quaint old film from 1939 on YouTube. It's about amateur radio, and particular how this service can be utilised in emergency situations. Very interesting.

  1. Its a great video, thanks for sharing, 73

  2. I have not seen the video before and it was great to see. Seems up this way we have been blessed with no major catastrophes but that means ham radio has not had a chance to shine. So ham radio is still seen as a "nice hobby" and not something that can be used in the event of major trouble.

  3. Reminds me of the old Tony Hancock film 'The Radio Ham'. When watched with a few beers makes rather amusing viewing!
